Biography
Siona van Dijk brings her experience as an entrepreneur, writer, and body worker to her practice. She’s worked in businesses ranging in size from Fortune 500 companies to individual startups, and has held jobs in the publishing industry, academia, and the world of career counseling. A certified massage therapist, her work is informed by a holistic approach that embraces mind, body, and spirit.
Her personal background has given her a unique compassion for those struggling with difficulties. In her early twenties, while working as an editor at a major consumer magazine, she found her life spiraling downward in disastrous combination of addiction and abuse. After an inadvertent near-suicide, she cobbled together a self-directed program of recovery. This resulted in her not merely overcoming her past troubles, but brought her a sense of clarity, commitment, moderation, and a deep respect for the opportunities presented by all major challenges.
Siona holds a degree in psychology and philosophy from Amherst College, and a master’s in Transpersonal Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. An avid traveler, runner, and speaker, and long-time practitioner of various mindfulness disciplines, Siona makes her home in Northern California.
